A magnitude 4.4 earthquake hit the coast of Sicily on Tuesday evening without causing damage but creating panic among the population of the nearest towns, Italian media reported.

According to the National Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology (INGV), the earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4, initially predicted to be 4.6, occurred at sea, at 21:12 GMT, a few kilometers from the coast is Sicilian and at a depth of 30 km.
