Joe Biden closes another loophole in his future cabinet: According to unanimous reports, US President-elect Miguel Cardona wants to appoint Minister-of-Education.

Cardona was once a primary school teacher, and in August 2019 he was appointed education officer in the US state of Connecticut.

In this position, he had to prove himself directly because of the corona pandemic: When the schools switched to distance learning, Cardona procured 100,000 laptops for students within a short time, according to the AP news agency.

His first days as Minister of Education are likely to be challenging too.

Joe Biden had announced that the majority of schools in the US would reopen within 100 days of taking office.

The Ministry of Education should determine the best way how lessons can take place during the pandemic.

Head of CIA and Justice Department not yet nominated

Biden had already announced further personnel decisions that morning.

According to the Reuters news agency, Bruce Reed will become Deputy Chief of Staff in the White House.

However, the position at the head of the Ministry of Justice and the director's position at the foreign intelligence service CIA is still vacant.

The future president wanted to address the people again on the afternoon before Christmas in a speech from his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware.
