In a conversation with "Israel Today", security sources said that the suspicion is growing that the death of Horgan, 52 at the time of her death and the mother of six, was caused by a terrorist attack on a nationalist background and that the murder suspect is an Israeli Arab.

Horgan's body was found in the woods with signs of violence, after being absent for several hours.

Volunteers from the Samaria-Jordan Valley Rescue Unit of the SJ District Police and security forces were rushed in a search for Horgan until her body was found. Police and forensic investigators who were called to the scene collected findings from the site and investigated the site.

In response to Horgan's death, Defense Secretary Benny Gantz said security forces "are working to get their hands on the heinous killer."

In a tweet posted yesterday on his Twitter account, Ganz shared in the grief of Horgan's family: "We will never accept a reality that human life becomes a no-brainer."

Gantz was also joined by President Reuven Rivlin, who said that "the brutal murder of Esther Horgan who left her home at noon and did not return a whole life of marvelous doing, of building a home and a family, of creation and care. A life robbed by human animals."

Rivlin added that he was confident that the security forces "would reach out to the despicable killers and bring them to justice. A brave embrace for Esther's family, children and father."

I share the deep grief of the Horgan family following the heinous murder of the late Esther.

The security forces are already working to get their hands on the heinous murderer. We will never accept a reality that human life becomes a no-brainer.

In response to the murder, hundreds of women and men marched and ran last night in dozens of centers in memory of Horgan, who studied art at Emuna College and was even active in the movement in Pardes Hanna.

Benjamin, Esther's husband, paid tribute to her yesterday: "Esther went for a walk in nature that she loved so much around the settlement - not adventurous deeds, but walking for someone like him in any normal place in the country, and did not return."

Horgan told of his wife that she was "so full of life and light and love for all - and all this was cut short in an instant. It is impossible to describe in words, who can do such an act?".

"Esther raised a family to glory and loved the grandchildren. Now they will have no mother or grandmother," Horgan added.

"She will be missed by all of us, the family and everyone who knew her. Before I knew what was happening, I received messages from all sorts of people about how much she had done. We see the great success of the family and the community in general - and that's a lot thanks to her."
