The search for a 59-year-old missing mountain hiker had a happy ending.

Kochler mountain rescue service and police were looking for a missing mountain hiker in the Herzogstand / Heimgarten area on Tuesday morning.
The man was found mildly hypothermic and debilitated after spending the night outdoors.
He and his two companions are now threatened with a fine because they violated Corona requirements.

- On Sunday the group had already walked up from the parking lot of the
Herzogstandbahn
to the
Herzogstandhaus
.
There the three slept on the terrace.
On Monday they continued the tour via the
Herzogstand
and the
Gratweg in the direction of Heimgarten
.
"The group made slow progress, probably due to excessive physical demands and the sometimes wintry road conditions," reported the police.
In the course of the descent from Heimgarten in the early evening, the group separated.
"The
59-year-old
didn't want to stop the other two and walk the familiar descent from the Ohlstädter Alm to the parking lot alone."

police
, the
missing
person was
spotted
on the first
helicopter
overflight and taken on board with the rescue hoist.
He was weak and slightly hypothermic, but otherwise uninjured.
