Tunisia does not want to develop diplomatic relations with Israel.

This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the North African country.

The Tunisian government's statements follow speculation that Tunisia could be the next country to normalize its relations with Israel.

A statement from the Foreign Ministry said that Tunisia respects the sovereignty of other countries and that it is the country's fundamental stance.

Changes at the international level would have no influence on it.

The "New York Times" reported on Monday in relation to officials in the administration of US President Donald Trump that Oman and Tunisia could be the next states to establish relations with Israel.

In addition to Morocco and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Sudan had also moved closer to Israel in recent months.

The US mediated between the Israeli allies and the Arab countries.

The Palestinians, however, criticized the procedure; they see a betrayal of their long-standing demand to be recognized as a separate state

US-Israeli delegation in Morocco

After the rapprochement between Morocco and Israel, a US-Israeli delegation visited the North African country on Tuesday.

She flew from Tel Aviv and landed in the capital Rabat, as the Moroccan state agency MAP reported.

On board the machine of the Israeli airline El Al were among others Jared Kushner, advisor and son-in-law of the incumbent US President Donald Trump, as well as the Israeli security advisor Meir Ben-Schabat.

It was the first direct flight between the two countries in decades.

Ben-Shabat spoke of a "historic Israeli direct flight" to Rabat.

"History is being written before our eyes."

In the evening the three countries signed a joint declaration.

In it, Morocco and Israel record the establishment of full diplomatic relations.

They are also committed to economic cooperation.

The two countries want to establish a direct flight connection.

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said Morocco and Israel also plan to reopen the liaison offices within two weeks.

For Trump and Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu, the rapprochement is a great PR success.

Trump presented himself as a great negotiator in the course of the agreements and even had the declaration with the UAE referred to as the "Abraham Accords".

Netanyahu, on the other hand, has long sought rapprochement with the Arab world, especially Saudi Arabia.
