According to the law, shop theft can be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison; and the crime of receiving stolen goods can be sentenced to up to 14 years.
The police appealed to shopkeepers not to accept goods from unknown sources if they feel suspicious; shopkeepers suspect that someone is selling stolen goods and should call the police immediately.
