After Strashnov's resignation announcement This morning, Gantz sent a letter to the Attorney General, demanding that he complete the examination procedure and regulate the powers of the government review committee. "In view of the great importance of the issue, I urgently request the examination procedure be completed. "On an issue of paramount security, economic and public importance," Ganz wrote.

Last month, Mandelblit contacted Gantz regarding the review committee, requesting that her work not begin until the end of his review on the matter.

This is in order not to harm the criminal proceedings that are conducted in parallel.

"You have informed me that you have decided to appoint a committee in a government apartment to examine the procurement procedures of the Saar 7 and submarine ships, and asked me to make sure that the areas of inspection specified in the committee's letter of appointment do not interfere with the proper conduct of criminal proceedings," Mandelblit wrote.

"Accordingly, an examination was conducted with the relevant parties on my behalf, which has not yet been completed. Therefore, in view of various issues that are already clearly arising at this time, I will request that the committee not begin its work until the examination is completed and the required guidelines are clarified."

The committee was intended to examine the procedure in the defense system's procurement proceedings regarding the protective ship Saar 6 and the submarines.

In addition, it had to investigate work interfaces between all parties involved in procurement, including the defense establishment, the Prime Minister's Office and the National Security Council.

In addition, the committee is intended to examine the IDF's areas of responsibility in the defense system's procurement procedures, as well as the status of intermediaries in the defense system's procurement or export transactions.
