On August 4 last year, demonstrators held a demonstration in Tseung Kwan O. Afterwards, a large number of people gathered at the Tseung Kwan O Police Station. The clashes continued until the early morning of the next day.

A computer technician who was arrested that night refused police bail earlier and was arrested again recently and charged with riot and criminal damage.

The case was presented in the Kwun Tong Court today (23). The defendant does not need to respond for the time being. The trial will be postponed until February 17 next year until the prosecution prepares the documents for referral to the District Court, during which time the defendant is granted bail.

The defendant Tam Ka Keung (22 years old) was charged with participating in a riot at Yan King Road outside Tseung Kwan O Police Station with others on August 5 last year; and damaging glass windows belonging to the Police Force without reasonable excuse.

He was released on bail of 6,000 yuan, during which he was not allowed to leave Hong Kong, and he was required to surrender his travel documents, report to the police station regularly, and live at the reported address.
