He estimates that around 20,000 people in the district belong to the first group to be vaccinated.

In addition to people aged 80 and over, these include residents and employees of old people's and care facilities, employees in outpatient care for the elderly and in various medical areas such as the Haar District Hospital, the Planegg Urological Clinic and the Wolfart Clinic Graefelfing.

"We decided to go into the homes with mobile vaccination teams first in order to vaccinate the residents and employees," explained Göbel.

In addition, mobile care workers and the people they care for enjoy top priority.

Göbel: "We will presumably vaccinate all vaccine doses in the first few days by the mobile vaccination teams." How many there will be depends on the amount of vaccine that the Free State receives.

Significant increase in SARS-CoV-2 infections in homes

The fact that it is the care facilities' turn first is also due to the "significant increase" in SARS-CoV-2 infections there.

While 82 residents in ten facilities tested positive in the previous week, this week there were 212 in 16 facilities.

177 residents are considered to be close contacts.

There are also 106 infected employees in 17 facilities, compared to 44 in the previous week.

In the past few days, residents and employees were asked about their willingness and suitability to be vaccinated.

As soon as the vaccine is available in larger quantities, the capacities for individual vaccination appointments should be activated step by step.

The first vaccination appointments will presumably be given from December 27th, online or by phone.

"I expect that a lot of citizens will turn to us with priority one in order to be vaccinated as soon as possible," said Göbel, who asks for understanding that the immunization of citizens in the centers does not start immediately on Sunday.

“The limiting factor is the number of vaccine doses.

Würmtaler vaccination center should go to Planegg

For the time being, the vaccination center at the Volksfestplatz in Unterschleißheim is responsible for the Würmtal, but preparations for a vaccination center on site are underway.
