The anti-terrorism judges sent back to correctional four “
radicalized
”
Muslims
, suspected of having considered a robbery on the first day of the “
yellow vests
” demonstrations
in 2018, corroborating sources indicated on Wednesday 23 December, confirming information from the

The arrests related to this affair had been revealed two days after act 1 of the "
yellow vests
" on November 17, 2018 and had caused a stir because of an SMS sent on the 8th by one of the accused: "
His will bled on the 17th
”.
In March 2019, the Minister of the Interior Christophe Castaner had indicated that a “
terrorist attack
” had then been “
neutralized
”.
At the end of the investigations, the national anti-terrorism prosecutor's office (Pnat) had, however, requested a requalification of the charges against Rémi M., Kevin B., and two brothers, Kamel and Hillal A. While they were initially indicted for association of criminal terrorist criminals, a qualification punishable by assizes, the Pnat demanded that they be tried for criminal conspiracy terrorism.
In their order dated December 11, which AFP was aware of, the investigating magistrates followed the Pnat's requisitions and ordered a trial of the four men before the criminal court.

If the investigations did not make it possible to establish with precision the state of progress of the project actually pursued by the members of the criminal association, the indicted recognized at least the existence of a project of 'attack on conveyors
,' said the judges, also observing that the four indicted were "
strongly radicalized
" and "
close to the theses
" of the terrorist group Islamic State.

The investigation confirmed that this idea of an attack envisaged on the day of the demonstration of the yellow vests did not correspond to any reality and was akin to a political recovery
", stressed to AFP Me Mickaël Bendavid, lawyer of Rémi M., 54 years old.
"
The defendants admit having had the 'idea' of attacking an automatic
teller
machine
", told AFP Me Léa Dordilly, lawyer of Hillal A., 25 years old.
"
If at all it could be considered a project, it was not terrorist in nature
," she added.
The trial of these four men, three of whom are in pre-trial detention, will be held at the end of January at the Paris court.
