Al-Nawa'ir participated three times in the first Arab Clubs Championship in 1983 in Algeria, where he won the third place, the second in 1984 in Saudi Arabia, and the third in 1985 in Damascus, in which he won the fourth place.
Although many years have passed since the last title of the Norias team in the men's league, the current reality of the club's teams in all age groups and all indicators and data suggest that the league championship for the current season will not be far from this old club.
The administrative supervisor of the handball game in the club, Wehbe Al-Kurdi, explained to the SANA sports correspondent that the club had drawn up since the beginning of this season a plan to compete for the titles of all leagues, whether in juniors, youth or men, pointing out that the club won first place in the first gathering of the Junior League, which was hosted by Hama after He beat all the teams of his group, which is the same thing that the youth team achieved when his group led easily in the first gathering hosted by Lattakia early this month.
"The men's team will participate, starting tomorrow, in the first gathering of the league championship hosted by Hama with the participation of six clubs, and aspires to compete for first place in it, especially with the presence of a distinguished group of players," Al-Kurdi said, noting that the gatherings that took place last season in the men's league were not In our favor, as we did not play the final round like the rest of the games because of the precautionary measures for Corona, our team was one of the most prominent candidates for the title, but we will make up for this in the current season because our goal is to restore the league championship to the club's embrace after a long absence.
Kurdi pointed out that most of the handball players in the club are from its children, who have progressed to its age groups, and that all of its coaches are former players, and these are the most prominent strengths of the game in the club in addition to the presence of dozens of talented players.
Kurdi indicated that the administration pays a lot of attention to the rules of the game because it is a companion to the higher classes by providing the game’s requirements and equipment so that the club remains brilliant in all tournaments, noting that the club’s investments are modest and not sufficient for the expenses of all its games, especially the collective, and if we are able to obtain more investments and material rents in the future Dedicating an important part of it to handball.
