The walls of the Old City of Jerusalem were illuminated this evening (Wednesday) with Israeli and Moroccan flags, on the occasion of the signing of the diplomatic agreement between the two countries.
Alongside the flags, a hamsa symbol was also illuminated, along with the word "peace" in three languages - Hebrew, Arabic and English.
The Mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon, greeted on behalf of the residents of Jerusalem and said: "This is another political, important and historic step for the State of Israel and I congratulate and thank Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for this peace agreement."
"I hope that as soon as the corona crisis is over, we will be able to see tourists from Morocco coming to visit Jerusalem," he concluded.
