Moataz Kattan, explained in a meeting with the representative of SANA that the total number of development projects implemented in the governorates amounted to 109 projects with appropriations amounting to 460.7 billion pounds, of which 14 projects are in Lattakia with credits of 926 million pounds and 12 projects in Tartous with credits of 934 million pounds and 8 projects in Rural Damascus with funds of 1.450 billion pounds and 10 projects in Aleppo with credits of 650 million pounds and 15 projects in Homs with credits amounting to 950 million pounds, and in Hama 11 development projects with credits of 650 million pounds.
According to Qattan, 12 projects were implemented in the As-Suwayda governorate with credits amounting to 400 million pounds and 5 projects in Deir Ezzor with 150 million liras, while the number of projects in the governorates of Hasaka and Raqqa reached 8 four projects for each governorate with appropriations amounting to 100 million pounds each, while the share of Quneitra governorate was 3 projects With appropriations of 400 million.
With regard to solid waste management, between Kattan, the Ministry has carried out, within the framework of its strategy, a set of works related to this sector, including the purchase of two cars for transporting medical waste with a capacity of 1 ton each allocated to the governorates of Tartous and Homs, in addition to rehabilitating random dumpsites in all governorates of 31 of them 8 in Sweida and 13 In Homs, 3 in Aleppo and 7 in Hama, a landfill is being rehabilitated in Latakia.
Kattan said that the total number of qualified exhibitors in the field of solid waste management in the field of cleaning, collection, deportation, mechanical and biological treatment has reached 29 to date.
With regard to the ministry's work in the environment sector, the Assistant Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Engineer Hassan Junaidan, stated that environmental approvals were granted by the central directorates and directorates of the environment in the governorates, amounting to 1912 approval, with the continuation of the implementation of the two projects for the gradual reduction of substances that deplete the ozone layer and the Climate Change Adaptation Fund in Eastern Ghouta. In addition to following up the implementation of the project of assessing the impact of climate change on natural and human resources and monitoring sand and dust storms in Syria in cooperation with the Supreme Commission for Scientific Research, the General Directorate of Meteorology and the General Authority for Remote Sensing.
Junaidan pointed out that the timetable and material program for the 2020 plan was prepared in cooperation with the General Authority for Remote Sensing and the General Directorate of Meteorology, and the observatory's operations room in the Quneitra governorate were equipped and prepared, and the environment directorates in the governorates delivered the supplies that were supplied to the governorates of Damascus, Rural Damascus, Homs, Hama, Lattakia and Tartous.
In the framework of following up on the preparation, completion and updating of the administrative border maps and the digital code for the governorates, the Deputy Minister of Local Administration, Louay Map, explained that the administrative boundary maps have been completed (experimental version) and work is underway to update them in accordance with the decisions issued in 2018 and in coordination with the concerned governorates, as the experimental digital code has been prepared ( The first level) which has 11 digits.
Mapa said that 35 projects have been completed in Lattakia governorate in this regard, with a total value of more than 16.427 billion Syrian pounds, while the projects under completion amounted to 33 projects, including 21 under implementation, 4 under contract and 8 under study and scrutiny.
