Nagorno-Karabakh: the new martyrdom of the Armenians

Armenia, a country with a large Christian majority, is trying to rebuild itself after the lightning war in the Republic of Artsakh.


"I know very well that every Christian is called to follow the Stations of the Cross, but recognize that ours is especially painful."

Vosdanik is one of the hundreds of Armenians who had to urgently leave their homes and the land of their ancestors a month and a half ago, following the end of the Nagorno-Karabakh war.

As had done before him, during the conflict, more than 70,000 citizens of the Republic of Artsakh.

Forty thousand have since returned, mainly to the capital, Stepanakert, which lies at the foot of the medieval Armenian citadel of Shushi, along the walls of which now hang huge and menacing banners in the colors of Azerbaijan.
