The Syrian Catholic Patriarch of Antioch, Mar Ignatius Joseph III, Greece, called again for the lifting of the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria.
In the Christmas message, Patriarch Younan called for lifting these measures that target the Syrian people and cause them suffering while the world watches and asks where is the credibility of the stable countries when they punish an entire people and prevent them from living necessities.
He stressed the need to stop foreign interference in the internal affairs of Syria and said is it not time for consciences to wake up to stop interfering in the affairs of a member state of the United Nations, noting that the Syrian people are the ones who decide their future and the future of their country through the national dialogue.
From the Lebanese side, he pointed out that Lebanon has been going through its darkest stage for two years, threatening its existence and entity.
