Protesters against Netanyahu and government corruption attacked at Binyamina junction (Walla! NEWS system)
Protesters against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and government corruption were attacked this morning (Tuesday) at the Binyamina junction.
In recent months, the protesters who come to the local council on Saturday evenings have also been holding a daily shift on duty, and a handful of them arrive every morning, hanging signs and posters in the corners of the intersection and standing there.
So it was this morning, when ten civilians stood there and demonstrated, until at one point a truck that arrived at the scene clung to one of the protest signs, and the passenger next to the driver tried unsuccessfully to pull one of the signs out of place.
He and the driver then got off and confronted Dana, a 51-year-old resident of Binyamina, a mother of children and a lawyer by profession.
Her friends who came to her aid also received punches, resulting in one of them being hit in the head, and another's glasses broken.
According to Dana, the pole of one of the flags was used to hit them and they tried to stab them with a pen.
She said that before the two left, they threw a cup of boiling coffee at them.

The protesters who were at the scene sensed her and managed to smuggle the two back to the truck.
They say another passenger who was in it did not intervene.
Following the incident, three of them filed a complaint at the Zichron Yaacov police station, and an investigation was opened.
"One of them came with the stick to me. I was in a state of survival and did not know where to put the focus of the danger because there were three of them, even though one did not intervene," Dana told Walla!
NEWS.
"Luckily, there were the other demonstrators who defended me with their bodies," she added.
"When I got home I noticed I was shaking. I suddenly realized I could have been physically assaulted in a not-so-simple way by three young men. It's very stressful."
However, Dana made it clear that the incident would not prevent her from returning to the scene and demonstrating.
"I very much hope I do not come to the day that something like this will deter me," she said.
