The corona vaccination in the district starts on Sunday with 100 doses in nursing homes in Krailling and Garatshausen.

From January there will be larger deliveries every week.

Everything is coordinated in the Gautinger vaccination center, which the district administrator and BRK presented on Wednesday.

The most important questions and answers.

District - The projectors under the ceiling suggest that it is actually a seminar building of the Asklepios Clinic in Gauting.

The rest is not: The first thing you see is the XXL banner in front of the house with the large lettering "Vaccination Center".

Inside, two rooms await you - the reception area and the vaccination area.

Red arrows on the floor show the way, past chairs at a safe distance, to the centerpiece: four cubicles in which doctors advise and medical professionals will inject the vaccine.

It may take some time before that happens there.

The corona vaccination in the Starnberg district begins on Sunday in the nursing homes.

On Wednesday afternoon, District Administrator Stefan Frey and those responsible for the BRK presented the vaccination center as the operator.

The most important questions and answers.

Who will be vaccinated on Sunday?

Two of the four mobile vaccination teams are moving out, one to the Caritas nursing home Maria Eich in Krailling, the other to the senior citizens' residence in the BRK Castle in Garatshausen.

In both facilities 50 vaccination doses are to be injected.

And why of all places first?

District Administrator Frey spoke of a "real test" and "familiar terrain".

The BRK is familiar with the conditions in Garatshausen, Dr.

Richard Aulehner, Medical Director of the Vaccination Center, as Kraillinger family doctor with those in the Maria-Eich nursing home.

Are nurses vaccinated at the same time?

For Dr.

Richard Aulehner, medical director of the vaccination center, no problem.

He leaves it up to the homes, a 40:10 resident-carer ratio is conceivable.

“And if there is something left over, we don't throw it away.” Then the mobile teams themselves would be an option.

How many vaccination doses does the district get?

For the first day of vaccination on Sunday only 100. According to District Administrator Frey, the Bavarian districts were promised further doses for December 28th and 30th.

In the week after Christmas, similarly small deliveries are expected, and larger ones from January.

Frey then assumes weekly batches with “several hundred” vaccination doses.

The BRK picks up the frozen vaccine from a central location in Munich.

It is stored in refrigerators in the vaccination center and dissolved before the vaccination - in Gauting or the nursing homes.

Then it has to be injected within five hours.

Who's next after the nursing homes?

And when?

"We assume that we will get the people in the nursing homes vaccinated in the next few weeks," says Lukas Messerschmidt, head of administration at the BRK vaccination center.

There are around 2500 home residents in the district, how many are vaccinated, it turns out.

After that, people over the age of 80 are on it, they should be informed by letter in January as soon as more vaccine is available.

When asked how long a healthy middle-aged person has to wait for his vaccination, District Administrator Frey replied: "Until the second or third quarter of 2021." An assumption: because everything depends on the amount of vaccine.

And every vaccinated person is known to be vaccinated again after three weeks.

What do you have to bring to the vaccination?

When it starts in the vaccination center - probably in mid-January - the BRK employees will ask those entitled at reception to have an identity card, vaccination card, insurance card and medical documents (e.g. for allergy sufferers).

How does the vaccination work?

300 vaccinations a day should be possible in Gauting one day.

In the waiting area, you fill out a form (like before an OP), and an info video is shown on a screen.

After the information from a doctor, the vaccination follows, a matter of two to three minutes.

To be on the safe side, the vaccinated have to wait 20 minutes.

Those who are worse off can withdraw to an extra relaxation area.

Are there enough specialists now?

So far, the BRK has received 200 applications from doctors, medical specialists and administrative staff.

"The amount is not the problem, but the coordination," says the medical director, Dr.

Richard Aulehner.

Choosing the right people and writing duty rosters with a large number of part-time employees is the big challenge.
