The Church of France faces a deficit of 90 million euros due to Covid-19

One million people donate to the penny each year with a drop of one-third of donors over the past decade.


Last chance and final stretch for the finances of the Church of France, which has lost a lot during the months of confinement without masses and therefore without quests.

The deficit to be filled nationally is 90 million euros, or 17% of usual current revenue, according to the Conference of Bishops.

In an attempt to turn the tide and perhaps make up for this cash flow delay, the Catholic Church this week launched a national donation campaign around a single word: "Thank you".

flourished here and there as well as a campaign in the form of advertising in the Catholic press.

An SMS donation service has been designed to educate the younger generations in particular to give to the Church.

Donations of 5 to 20 euros are thus possible by writing the word “DONATION” in an SMS addressed to the number 92 377.
