The corona crisis is hitting hard in the past day in the UK as the rate of infection and mortality in the country is on the rise and two particularly contagious mutations of the virus have already been identified in its territory.

British authorities today recorded 744 deaths, the highest daily mortality rate since the country's previous peak in the country, in May.

Nearly 40,000 have been infected with the virus and the state health system indicates that the average time between infection and death from covid-19 disease stands at twenty-eight days.

Authorities in the UK announced today that four more areas in the country will enter the highest level of closure, after the new mutation of the virus was found in them in recent days and has not been stopped.

The spread of the new strain of corona virus across the UK created another problem for the country’s authorities as many countries closed their gates to passengers from the UK and France, the UK’s gateway to Europe still significantly restricts cargo traffic from UK ports and land crossing in the Eurostar Tunnel to UK territory.

The French demand that British truck drivers entering its territory be tested for the Corona virus has created a huge traffic jam in the country’s eastern ports, especially at a terminal near the town of Dover.

The huge traffic jam threatens to disrupt the country's supply of fresh food, less than a day before Christmas, senior sources in the British Food and Drug Administration's Reuters news agency revealed.

The British Army announced today that it will intervene and send large forces of military medics to conduct tests among the truck drivers waiting for the spokesman, but the huge traffic jams are continuing due to the huge volume of traffic.

The huge traffic jam also brought with it fights between the truck drivers and the police, during which several policemen and dozens of truck drivers were injured.

British Health Secretary Matt Hancock said today that health authorities had identified a new strain, in addition to the aggressive strain reported by the British in recent days.

According to him, this strain is "spreading at a dangerous rate", more than the previous strain, which itself was defined as 70 percent more contagious.

The new strain has been discovered in the last two weeks among two infected people originating in South Africa.

The UK subsequently announced aviation restrictions for the African country.

The British also put in isolation those who had been in contact with the two infected South African strains and said that anyone who had come from South Africa in the last two weeks would be required to enter isolation.

The South African Ministry of Health announced last week a new genetic mutation of the virus that was apparently responsible for the increase in infection in the country.
