Because applause for caregivers is not enough, the Territoires solidaires d'avenir association has decided to offer 1,000 vacation stays to caregivers and caregivers who have helped save lives during the health crisis.
With this operation called “1000 Mercis”, 25 families left this summer in Aveyron, Brittany, Aquitaine, etc.
On All Saints' Day, 15 others stayed on the Île de Ré.
About 20 were due to go skiing at Christmas, before their stay was postponed due to the rebound of the epidemic.
But around 40 families will be selected again on January 20 for mountain holidays in February-March.
Candidates apply on the association's Facebook page and are selected by drawing lots.
The stays include accommodation at a hotel, a holiday village, a gîte or a guesthouse.
They are supplemented by partnerships with transport vouchers, heritage discovery tours,
