After the decision to isolate all returnees from abroad in a motel took effect last night (Wednesday), many passengers who returned to Israel from Dubai earlier today demanded to stay at home during the isolation period - and expressed their anger before the Exceptions Committee.

"Unbelievable, what is it? We are treated like dogs," said one of them.

"Why did you tell us 'fly to a green country'? Go learn from Dubai how to treat people. You keep sick people here," an elderly man noted.

Another passenger returning from Dubai shouted: "Put us a yellow badge, we are back from Dubai. Bring me Ciprofloxacin, I can not be in a hotel."

During the night, quite a few Israelis received an exemption from isolation in a motel, some due to a medical condition.

Some of them stated that they are dealing with anxieties.

Among the exceptions who received an exemption: patients, the elderly, children and in some situations parents of young children.

About 10,000 people have returned to Israel in the last two days from various countries, most of them from the United Arab Emirates.

Whoever returns before 22:00 will be able to be alone in his house.

Currently, there are quite a few Israelis who have chosen to stay in Dubai and intend to complete the pre-planned vacation or even extend it.

It is important to emphasize that Ben Gurion Airport has not closed and there are still outbound flights, but it is very likely that many of them will be canceled due to low demand.
