The City of Elm School in Aleppo today honored the students, the brothers Muhammad, Amal and Lana Kayali, the winners of the Arab Mental Calculation Championship Cup, which was held online in Egypt and under the auspices of the International Union of Soroban International, with the participation of 350 children and girls from 46 Arab and foreign countries.
Student Muhammad Kayali, 8 years old, stated that he was able to memorize the multiplication and division table since he was five years old and received the cup and felt the joy that prompted him to train more in mental arithmetic operations with his insistence on achieving the first degree and participated in the competition for mental arithmetic by answering a hundred questions within a prescribed period of time six Minutes, he managed to achieve it in four minutes and fifty seconds and won first place.
In turn, the 10-year-old student Amal Kayali showed that she finished the last level in mental arithmetic and got the first level in the Arab mental arithmetic competition within a period of time less than five minutes and that she was training at home with the help of her mother and in school with her teacher, and she is continuing to train to achieve more championships.
Ghadeer Khazneh, the school that supervised the training of Muhammad and Amal Kayali, expressed her feeling of pride for the ability of her students to win the Arab Mental Arithmetic Championship Cup hosted by Egypt and under the auspices of the International Union of Soroban through continuous training on mental arithmetic operations by adding and subtracting and their love for science and knowledge where they spent more than four days Hours of training and for a whole month, after which they managed to win the championship.
Majed Khazneh, the school director, explained that the interest in children starts from first childhood until high school, according to the methodology of the Ministry of Education, in addition to the school’s follow-up to enrichment curricula in French and English languages, as well as informatics and mental computation as a basic subject under the supervision of specialized trainers.
