In San José, the first doses were applied to a 91-year-old woman and a 71-year-old man. Despite this good news, the authorities insist that it is not yet time to lower their guard or relax the measures to prevent contagions.
President Carlos Alvarado, who was present, said that the moment was "emotional" and took the opportunity to wish a "safe and happy Christmas."
