The National Civil Police of Guatemala confirmed this Wednesday the detention of the former deputy for the National Convergence Front and former presidential candidate Estuardo Ernesto Galdámez Juárez, who is under a court order for the crime of influence peddling in the case called as "Assault on the Ministry of Public Health."
Such accusations have been denied by Galdámez in the past.
The head of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Impunity (FECI), Juan Francisco Sandoval, told CNN by phone that Galdámez, who was arrested in Guatemala City, is being transferred to court.
