British royalty share Christmas postcards 0:37
(CNN) -
Meghan and Prince Harry unveiled a family Christmas card featuring their 19-month-old son Archie in his first public image in months.
In the card, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex turn their attention to a light-haired Archie.
The family is surrounded by their two dogs, a miniature house, and lush greenery.
Nearby is a small Christmas tree decorated with a red bow.
"We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year," the card says.
The image, which appears to be an illustration, represents Archie's first look since his first birthday in May.

"The original family photo was taken at their home earlier this month by the Duchess's mother," a family spokesman said, according to Page Six.
"The small Christmas tree, including the home decorations and other decorations, were selected by Archie, and the tree will be replanted after the holidays," he added.
Prince Harry and Meghan have fiercely protected Archie's privacy and filed a lawsuit in July over paparazzi photos of him.
The couple departed from their roles as members of the royal family in early 2020 and moved to Santa Barbara, California, in July.

An organization sponsored by Meghan
The Christmas card was released through Mayhew.
This is a London-based animal welfare charity and is one Meghan sponsors.
"This year as a family we have donated to various charities with you in mind," Meghan says on the card.
“From a local California organization helping families out of homelessness, to two of our sponsorships in the UK: one supporting animal and community welfare, the other a memorial fund for a dear friend who helps educate children and fight poverty in Uganda, we have honored his work on behalf of all of us.
Mayhew CEO Caroline Yates said the organization was delighted to have Markle as a sponsor.
"We are especially honored to have recently received a personal donation from the Duke and Duchess, which will allow us to help more cats, dogs and pet owners in need during this harsh winter period," Yates wrote.
