Turkey has discovered 99 tonnes of gold worth about $ 6 billion, the state news agency reported today (Thursday).
The gold was found in the city of Söğüt by Fahrttin Piraez, head of Turkey's agricultural credit cooperative, and by the Gubertas company.
Gubertash won ground in 2019 in a fight against another company, which was decided in court.
"Within two years, we will be able to extract the gold that the Turkish economy will benefit from," Piraeus told Anadolu.
Following the gold discovery, Govertash shares soon soared to ten percent.
