This closure of museums, exhibition halls and even open-air monuments is a serious attack on a series of fundamental freedoms, including "
freedom of expression and the free communication of ideas, freedom of artistic creation
" or "
freedom of access to cultural works
”, underlines once again the highest administrative court.
But given the
particularly serious and uncertain “
health context
”, this general closure measure is not disproportionate, say the wise.
Conversely, as was the case the day before for cinemas and theaters, the decision opens a window for a reopening as soon as the health situation improves.
The government has not set any specific perspective for reopening cultural venues, and a new assessment of the situation must be made on January 7.
