The Russian ambassador to the occupied Palestinian territories, Gucha Buachidze, affirmed that Syria is on its way to a great victory over terrorism, stressing that the Syrian people’s standing by their leadership and army was the strongest element of steadfastness and victory.

During his meeting with a delegation from the People's Committee for the Defense of Syria in Occupied Palestine, Boachidze renewed his country's position in support of the struggle of the Palestinian people in the face of occupation and settlement, stressing that this position is stable and subject to no change.

Boachidze said, “Russia stands by the rights and interests of the Palestinian people and is striving hard and real effort to achieve Palestinian reconciliation,” noting also that the Russian embassy stands by the Palestinian prisoners, including the prisoner Maher Al-Akhras, who went on a hunger strike for more than 100 days.

For their part, the members of the delegation praised the important historical and strategic Russian position in support of Syria in its war on terror, which is in the interest of the Palestinian as well as the Syrian right.

At the end of the meeting, Sabreen Diab, coordinator of the People's Committee for the Defense of Syria, presented a shield to the Russian ambassador on behalf of the committee, in appreciation of the embassy’s efforts in supporting the Palestinian national right.

In addition to Sabreen, the delegation included a member of the Fatah Central Committee, Abbas Zaki, the head of the captive movement in the occupied territories in 1948, Munir Mansour, and a number of Palestinian leaders, writers and intellectuals.
