From Tel Aviv to Haifa in half an hour: The high-speed train will travel between southern Haifa and North Tel Aviv at a speed of 250 km / h, and will make the journey in about 30 minutes. Some trains will stop at only one station - in Hadera. -50 minutes, stopping at all stations.

And how will all this happen?

This week, the National Committee for National Infrastructures (WHO) approved the plan to upgrade the coastal railway from Carmel Beach in the north to Shefayim in the south.

The plan is to double the coastal railway, along a route 86 km long. The plan includes upgrading the existing tracks and adding 2 highways alongside them, expanding existing passenger stations and adding new stations, making level separations at all track junctions on the route and improving the interface with crossing streams.

From Netanya to Shefayim, two additional suburban tracks will be added, for a total of 6 tracks, as well as a route for public transportation (instead of extending Road 20).

According to the operational characterization for 2040, 14 passenger trains will depart from the Hof Hacarmel station to the south during peak hours.

Along the route there will be 11 stations, including 4 new ones: Zichron Yaacov, Binyamina / Or Akiva, the college station in Netanya, Shefayim.

In a number of stations, a new structure will be erected in addition to or in the existing location: Hof Hacarmel, Atlit, Hadera, Netanya, Central and Sapir.

The route crosses 13 local authorities and 11 streams and includes about 50 bridges, water transfers and electrification facilities.

Most of the way, the route adheres to the existing track strip, except in the areas of Binyamina, Caesarea and Hadera Forest / North Sharon Park, where the existing route changes in order to meet the required speed.

Abandoned sections of track will be restored and restored to their former purpose.
