Tejdin was initially accused with several local police officers of being Iran's "local liaison" in planning the attack.

"We are 27 years after the horrific attack and we continue to hear, 'Tzedin knew, Tzedin assumed, Tzedin believed,'" he told the court.

"I don't know how to say that the truck was just sold to a person who came in response to a regular advertisement and paid."

He spent more than a decade in jail, starting in 2004, throughout the hearings in various court cases, before being acquitted of previous charges.

Also released were several former police officers that Tejedin accused of trying to incriminate him in exchange for the $ 400,000 they received from the government, which was one of the reasons for closing the case.

Former Federal Judge Juan Jose Galliano, who headed the initial investigation, was found guilty of embezzlement and negligence and sentenced to six years in prison for his handling of the case.
