The Wunschbaum campaign by ProCit and Caritas was again a complete success: all the wish stars were sold in a short time.
According to the announcement, gifts worth almost 2000 euros could be given to around 50 needy Geretsried children and adults in good time before Christmas.
Due to the corona, the fir trees with stars labeled with wishes were not on the Christmas market in Geretsried this year, but in three ProCit member companies.
Donors chose the wishing stars in the Billion car dealership, in the Isar department store or in the Schmid-Bäck bakery.
But that's not all.
“There were a lot more willing buyers than stars,” reports ProCit chairman Ludwig Schmid.
“Additional stars” worth 1500 euros were spontaneously sold to them.
In consultation with Caritas, ProCit provides shopping vouchers for people in need, which can be redeemed in Geretsried shops in the coming year.
The other gifts for needy Geretsrieder were also bought in local shops.
"We are delighted with the stunning result and of course that so many people have committed themselves to the additional stars beyond the actual goal," said Caritas District Manager Wolfgang Schweiger.
Now patients and clients can be given targeted support even during the year in which emergency situations repeatedly arise.
In view of the repeatedly good and trusting cooperation with ProCit Geretsried in the interests of people who are not on the sunny side of life, Caritas district manager Schweiger is already looking forward to the joint Wunschbaum campaign in the coming year.
