Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Egyptian Sameh Shoukry discussed during a phone call today the two crises in Syria and Libya, as well as a number of regional files.

In a statement carried by Russia's website, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Lavrov and Shukri pointed out during the call to "the necessity of ensuring the Syrians' right to self-determination in accordance with Security Council Resolution 2254."

Regarding the crisis in Libya, the ministry stated in its statement that the two ministers stressed the need to impart a comprehensive nature to the national dialogue there, and the commitment of their countries to the sovereignty and unity of the Libyan territories and a peaceful settlement in accordance with the outcomes of the Berlin Conference and the provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 2510.
