A Buenos Aires policeman was shot four times by two criminals who tried to assault him when he was leaving to greet his mother for Christmas, in the town of San Justo.
According to police and judicial sources, the incident occurred on Thursday around 7 p.m. when Major
Rubén Alejandro Rivas (46 years old)
withdrew from his mother's house, located at 1300 Cabrera Street, in the La Matanza district.
The policeman, who was working as cash in the transfer of detainees in the Court of Guarantees 5 of La Matanza and who was frankly, said goodbye to his mother, identified as Nélida Dos Santos (62), and one of his sisters the ones he had come to greet for Christmas.

According to a judicial spokesman, Rivas fired 12 times at the criminals, but was wounded after the assailants responded to the attack with four accurate shots;
three that hit the chest area and the remaining one on one of his legs.
After the attack,
the criminals escaped
accompanied by at least two accomplices who were waiting for them aboard a gray Fiat Siena.
They fled in the direction of the town of La Tablada on José Ingenieros street.
Members of the Northern Patrol Command confirmed upon arrival that
Rivas had died at the scene as a result of the wounds received
and that his mother was injured in the right hand.
Prosecutor Federico Medone, of the La Matanza Homicide UFI, intervenes in the case, who ordered the review of security cameras in the area.
At the scene of the event
, at least 20 served pods were seized
