The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the Israeli occupation continues its settlement plans aimed at liquidating the Palestinian issue with absolute American support, especially in the occupied city of Jerusalem, in an attempt to Judaize it, obliterate its identity and falsify its historical and cultural heritage.
The Foreign Ministry stated in a statement today reported by "Wafa" agency that the escalation of the occupation occupation in the Holy City has doubled dangerously during the year 2020, as it announced the establishment of thousands of settlement units with the aim of separating them from their Palestinian surroundings and undermining any possibility of establishing an independent Palestinian state.
The Foreign Ministry stressed the need for the international community, the United Nations and its specialized bodies to assume their responsibilities in preserving the status of Jerusalem and protecting it from attempts to Judaize it and change its demographic character as the capital of the State of Palestine.
The Foreign Ministry called on the competent courts, especially the International Criminal Court, to hold the occupation accountable and all those who commit war crimes and crimes against humanity against the Palestinians and their sanctities.
