The Arabic language is one of the pillars of the cultural diversity of humankind as a whole. It is one of the most widespread and used languages in the world and constitutes a civilizational, historical and cultural carrier of all humanity.

While Arabic was applied to the tribes in the Arabian Peninsula in the form of multiple dialects, it took a single form since the advent of the Noble Qur’an in the Quraish language, which became the common denominator between these dialects to be the role of the Noble Qur’an in bringing the Arabs together by unifying their dialects. Later, many nationalities entered into this composition when Arabic was adopted. A language of worship for Muslims of all races.

Vice President of the Arabic Language Academy, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Sayed explained in an interview with SANA that the role that the Arabic language played in the core of Islamic civilization throughout the ages was present in the affairs of Arab-Islamic life and it is impossible to separate between Arabic and the people who spoke and preserved it, indicating that a scholar named Imam The grammarians, who are not of Arab origin, set the rules for the language of Dhad, just as many non-Arabs cling to our language and are enthusiastic about it and are more proud of it than they are proud of their mother tongue.

The Director General of the Arab Encyclopedia stated that we have many scholars in our Arab-Islamic heritage who are not Arabs, but of Roman and Persian origins. These have enriched our language with their intellectual creativity, just as our Arab Islamic heritage was not limited to what Arab scholars presented, but Muslim scholars from outside the Arab circle such as Ibn Sina and Al-Farabi also contributed to it. Al-Kindi and the creations of many people from Iran, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and others.

Al-Sayed found that the campaigns waged by the West against our language seek to attack both culture and religion, as Arabic is the symbol of Arab-Islamic civilization, and it is a unified and unified identity for Arabs and for all races living on the Arab land, including Kurds, Turkmen, Charax, and Armenians, citing a saying by the poet of Bedouin Al-Jabal: “For the Dhad, there are separate lineages. The antagonist is the best mother, righteousness, and father .. eras perish and remain immortal.

Still, according to the author of the book "The Arabic Language a Reality and Progress", it constitutes a yearning for all children of Islamic countries who have a thirst to learn it. It is the language of the Noble Qur’an, stressing the necessity of sticking to it because it is an unparalleled factor of unity, a resource in this regard, a house for the late compiler and polymath, the poet Abdul Karim Al-Yafi said in it: "There is nothing left in our hands except language ... we protect it with a black heart and a fringe."

The Master was surprised that some of the Arab nation’s children in international forums resorted to speaking foreign languages and abandoning their eloquent language, even though it is one of the six languages universally adopted by the United Nations and its affiliated organizations, warning that some private universities are limited to using foreign languages in the teaching process and in the curricula.

On the status of the Arabic language inside Syria, the master affirms that our country has always been linguistically distinct at the national level, and has adopted it in all fields of knowledge, proving a fact that surpasses those who learned their mother tongue over those who studied in foreign languages, pointing to the issuance of many decrees and laws that provide for the protection, attention and preservation of the Arabic language. .

Al-Sayed stopped at the role of the Arabic Language Academy in Damascus, which is considered the father of linguistic academies since its establishment 100 years ago, during which he showed unparalleled keenness to preserve and preserve the language, as well as the role of the Higher Committee for Empowerment of the Arabic Language in this field through permanent coordination with the Academy as it is the supreme reference for Arab affairs. By rule of law.

Preserving our language, according to the Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Empowerment of the Arabic Language, is not only by singing and showing off, but in using it sound on tongues and pens.

Regarding the effect of spreading foreign languages on Arabic, the master considered that there is no negative impact, but rather a state of mutual enrichment, and this is what our Arab nation has been tempted to do with its past, as the Arabs respected other languages and borrowed from them such as Greek, Persian and Hindi, stressing the need to know all the western languages, such as English, French and Eastern such as Chinese, Japanese and others .

Al-Sayed concluded by stressing that the advancement and advancement of the language is a societal responsibility that must be supported by official and popular people, because the national and scientific duty requires us to righteousness to our mother tongue, to fulfill it, to belong to it and to ensure its proper use, for it is the language of our noble Qur’an and the title of our universal identity.
