The rage of the restaurateurs ahead of the third closure, which will kick off tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon, has been replaced by despair.

Lucky businesses that only manage to operate on deliveries will be eligible to stay open but falafel and shawarma stalls for example, cafes or "just" restaurants that are not allowed to work on deliveries - will have to close for a period of at least three to four weeks.

The shipping company "Walt", which operates in many cities in the Central and Sharon area, announced today that it is continuing its benefits for the restaurateurs who work with it and is reducing the commission it charges them from 27% to about 22%.

The company's subsidy, which cost millions of shekels, will begin tomorrow and continue throughout January.

Remember, this is the second time the company has made this gesture for the restaurateurs who work with it.

In the previous closure, the company reduced the commission as well, eliminated the self-collection fees and even absorbed some of the credit clearing costs in order to encourage orders at Take Away.

Lior Eshkol, CEO of Walt Israel: "This is a difficult time for the Israeli economy and the restaurant industry in particular.

We, who see our restaurateurs as partners, decided to hire them and help them as much as we could during this difficult time.

We hope that the move will allow hundreds of thousands of workers in the industry and thousands of supportive businesses to continue operating.

As is well known, the Walt company is intended to be a complementary platform for the activities of restaurants and not a substitute for sitting in them.

Once the restrictions made food delivery 100% of restaurant revenue, we stepped in to help restaurateurs in a series of moves.

Without the restaurants, Walt would not be able to survive.

We all hope that this difficult time will pass soon and we look forward to the day when we can go back and sit and spend time in restaurants. "
