The data of the report were collected by the Israeli Observatory on the Murder of Women, a body established at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and striving to be the official authority for collecting data in the field.

According to the data, 21 out of 25 murders of women occurred this year due to being women, and the most murderous month was March, with five murders.

The report also shows that the average age of the victim is 39.6 years. The youngest was 19 and the oldest was 66. In most cases the ethnic identity of the killer was similar to that of the victim.

57% of the victims are from the Arab sector, although their share of the general population is only about 20%.

In 12 of the 21 cases (57%) the murdered woman belonged to Arab society, six of whom were Bedouin women.

Of the other cases, one was from Ethiopia, four were from the former Soviet Union and four were veteran Israelis.

Regarding the murder weapon, out of the 20 cases in which there are data on the subject, seven were carried out using a sharp tool (35%), six with a firearm (30%), two with a blunt object blow (10%), two by strangulation (10%), two By beatings (10%) and one case by throwing from a height (5%).

About two-thirds of the murders were committed using sharp tools and firearms.

Only in seven cases (35%) was there prior acquaintance of the authorities with the victim.

To date, only seven indictments have been filed on the feminicide cases (murder of women by men because they are women) that occurred this year (33%).
