Banker in Paris and farmer in the Allier with some 500 sheep… The CV of Arnaud de Montlaur, 51, stands out.
Little known to the general public, the friend of François Fillon and kingpin of his campaign in 2016 is now resuming service with Bruno Retailleau, the president of the LR group in the Senate.
“It's off again!” He
laughs.
If other teams of right-wing candidates had indirectly approached him, this faithful friendship chose
“naturally”
to work alongside Bruno Retailleau.
With the same mission as the right-wing primary in 2016: to raise funds for an electoral campaign.
Itinerant campaign under a marquee
For a month and a half, nearly 200,000 euros have already been collected for the president of the LR group in the Senate, to date not officially a presidential candidate.
However, behind the scenes, his teams are busy with the objective of tripling the stake by the summer.
“It's going very well, especially for two months,”
smiles Arnaud de Montlaur.
