The Advent and door wreath sales were well received.

Baiernrain / Thanning -

The organizers hadn't expected this success: With the support of the two Raiffeisen construction and goods centers in Thanning and Lenggries, the Baiernrain village community initiated an Advent and door wreath sale.

The result was 9,500 euros, which Raiffeisen topped up by 3,000 euros.

The total of 12,500 euros has now been donated to the parents' initiative Intern 3 of the Hauner Children's Hospital in Munich.

"Without Corona this year would have been the 20th Baiernrainer Dorfherbst," says its organizer Annelies Huber with regret.

“The proceeds from the market have been going to the Haunersche Children's Hospital for years.” There, donations are always needed to alleviate the suffering of small cancer patients and their families.

“We came across a letter from the parents' initiative Intern 3, asking for funds.

After all, all events are canceled this year because of the pandemic, ”reports Huber.

“So we thought about how we can help.

So we came up with the idea of tying wreaths and selling them. ”At the Raiffeisen construction and goods center, the women ran open doors asking for sales support.

The company even donated wire and straw blanks.

The campaign became a sure-fire success: "Everyone took part - from the dairy farmers to the Schlüter friends and the beard club." Annelies Huber can no longer say how many wreaths were ultimately sold.

"It must have been well over 300."

The construction and goods center also decided to donate to the parents' initiative this year.

"It can happen to any family at any time," says managing director Florian Heuschneider, explaining the decision.

The treasurer of the volunteer parents' initiative Intern 3, Margarete Bader, accepted the donation.

“I can just say thank you.

The money is well invested. ”The motto of the association is not for nothing:“ Our goal is to wrest more life from cancer in children. ”

The parents' initiative Intern 3 was founded in 1985 and uses financial contributions to ensure that there are enough positions for doctors, nurses and psychosocial specialists in the children's cancer ward.

The association also steps in when a family is in need due to the child's illness.

Additional units for bone marrow and stem cell donations have also been set up in order to offer all children who need this therapy the best possible treatment.
