Suspicion of rape in Ashkelon:
In recent days, the Lachish police have held a confrontation between the girl who complained that she was raped by five young men suspected of the act.
The special investigation team, set up to investigate the complaint, carried out the confrontation as part of the investigation stages prior to the formulation of the case and the evidence in it into an indictment.
This is to the extent that the State Attorney's Office will come to the conclusion that there is indeed a possibility of reaching a conviction.
The girl, a 17-year-old resident of the south, complained about a rape she committed at the hands of five young people in an apartment in Ashkelon six months ago.
Her testimony and the investigation of the incident indicate that she arrived at the home of one of the suspects, with whom she was in a romantic relationship.
Four of his friends who also arrived at the scene blurred her senses with drugs and alcohol, and raped her for several hours.
These are young people from cities in the south and the Jezreel Valley. Their detention was extended last weekend by five days, and police are expected to again request an extension of detention for further investigation.
