A female python, a species of suffocating snake, two and a half meters long, was observed during Shabbat in the Alexander River in the Hefer Valley.

Many hikers came to the creek on Saturday and some of them noticed the big snake.

"This is a big and scary snake," said one resident of the area.

"Instead, parents travel with small children and it can be dangerous."

The snake came to the stream after escaping from a tower in Kibbutz Ein HaHoresh.

The Nature and Parks Authority stated: "This is a non-local snake species and its chances of survival in the open in the Israeli climate are not high. In addition, like other snakes, its activity in winter is significantly slowed to a partial and even complete coma. However, in some cases, especially at the end of the winter hibernation, there may be some danger to mammals, including humans. "

The Emek Hefer Regional Council said: "The snake was observed and documented in Nahal Alexander on Saturday. Teams from the council and the Drainage Authority are working to try to locate and capture the snake. We will make every effort to catch the snake soon, and we will of course update."

Inside you, as part of the search for the great snake, there is a call for travelers in the area that if they encounter a snake, report it at 054-8161461.

We would also like to point out that for any report on the subject, you can also contact the council's hotline >> 9875 *.
