Say congratulations:

Next week you will celebrate Kana Tanaka, an elderly woman of Japanese descent, no less than 118 years since her birthday.

Tanaka, who lives in Fukuoka province in Japan, is the oldest woman in the world today.

In a quick calculation, the elderly woman, who was born somewhere at the beginning of the last century, on January 3, 1903, had already seen the First World War, World War II, won to live alongside the Beatles, witness the first computers, the twin disaster and the social network revolution.

In 1922 Tanaka married her distant cousin named Hideo, and together they opened a shop and sold shiroku (a kind of Japanese dessert) and noodles.

During World War II, one of their children died tragically, but the couple, who already had four more children, also decided to adopt another child.

Kanna retired from her job at age 63. In 1993, her partner Hideo passed away, after just over 70 years of marriage.

Despite the heartbreak, Tanaka continued to survive, and also managed to recover from the colon cancer that was discovered in her at the age of 103. She was cured of the final disease at the age of 107.

Asked in recent years what the secret of her extreme longevity is, Tanaka explained: "The secret is first and foremost family genetics, plus an optimistic life and healthy sleep."

In 1918 Tanaka expressed a desire to live another 5 years until the age of 120. Today she lives in a hospital in the Higashi-ku district of Fukuoka province.

Despite her extreme age, she is alert and healthy and spends her time in reverie games as well as short gymnastic walks in the hospital corridors.

Her hobbies are calligraphy and mathematical calculations.

It is interesting to note that Tanaka loves sweet and to this day she drinks 3 cups of coffee, carbonated juices and various smoothies every day.

Her nephew's son, Gary Funkoshi, was interviewed by the American media and noted that his relative also believes that her longevity is also related to her belief in God.

On March 9, 2019, she was recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest living person today.
