The Jordanian Minister of Health, Nazir Obeidat, announced today the registration of the first two cases of the new strain of Corona virus discovered in Britain in Jordan.
Obeidat explained that the two injuries were detected by a married couple who arrived from Britain on December 19, after restricting the arrivals from Britain, tracking them and conducting examinations for them, stressing that the health condition of the injured is good.
Jordan is currently the second Arab country to officially announce the registration of a confirmed infection with this mutated strain, after Lebanon.
Obaidat indicated that Jordan today recorded 29 deaths and 1,590 new infections with the new Corona virus, in a significant increase in the number of infections and deaths compared to the outcome recorded yesterday.
In Iraq, the Ministry of Health and Environment announced the registration of 818 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections to 591,597 cases.
And the Ministry stated in its daily statement today that 13 deaths were recorded, bringing the total to 12,780 cases, while the total cases of recovery reached 531,803 cases.
For its part, the Omani Ministry of Health stated that the total number of injuries recorded in Corona in the Sultanate amounted to 128,472 injuries, while the total deaths reached 1,495, and the number of people recovered reached 120,976 people.
In Palestine, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of 28 deaths and 1,506 new infections with the Coronavirus during the last 24 hours.
The Saudi Ministry of Health also announced the registration of 154 new cases of the virus, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 362220.
The ministry said in its daily report on virus developments that 9 new deaths were recorded, bringing the total deaths to 6,185.
For its part, the Algerian Ministry of Health announced today that 392 new cases of corona were recorded and 6 deaths during the past 24 hours.
Dr. Jamal Forar, in charge of media in the Follow-up Committee and Monitoring Corona Virus, said that the total number of infections reached 98249, while the number of deaths reached 2728.
