From the stabbing in the mosque to the elimination in front of the police: the bloody rivalry between the clans in Lod

The two assassinations that took place today (Monday) in Lod and on Road 6 were preceded by a bloody history between the Azbarka and Abu Seluk families from Lod.
The violent past between the parties has in recent years led to the departure of more and more Abu Seluk people from the city to Kafr Qassem, and today, another family move ended in the murder of a 15-year-old boy.
The conflict began about a decade ago.
The move led to a dispute between the two clans over how to use the mosque, and in July 2010 the first violent incident in the ongoing bloody conflict occurred: one of the Azbarka family came to pray at the mosque, he was deported, which led to a violent brawl between the two families.
The same murder ignited the war between the two clans - from which all the inhabitants of Lod suffer.

In December 2018 there was an escalation, when Jadua and Amna Azbarga were found shot in the head and lifeless in a vehicle near the entrance post of the headquarters of the 433rd Blade Unit in Lod.
The police were then informed that the double elimination was due to their family affiliation, and the conflict with the Abu Saluk clan, as Jadua had indeed been involved in criminal offenses in the past, the police defined them as marginalized.
Following that double assassination, police in the city deployed Border Police forces.

In the last day, two more bleeding incidents have occurred.
At night, Salman al-Azbarka, a member of the family in his 50s, was found shot and lifeless in his vehicle on Helen Keller Street in Lod.
Two arrests were made following the same incident, and things came in parallel with preparations for the departure of two more members of the Abu Saluk clan from the city.
The members of the Abu Saluk family felt threatened, and asked the police station in Lod to obtain security for the same crossing to Kfar Qassem.
Three police vehicles were called in and accompanied by three vehicles belonging to the Abu Saluk family.

At the Gimzo Junction junction on Route 6, the officers of the mobile that accompanied the convoy in the back noticed a Renault vehicle approaching quickly and raising the suspicion of the officers.
One of the vehicles opened in pursuit, and the vehicle fled.
While driving, another car got stuck in the lane next to the two young men's vehicle, and one of its occupants pulled out the barrel of a rifle from the window and opened fire at close range - in front of the police.
The damaged vehicle lost control and overturned on the side of the road.
One of the vehicles left on the escort mission turned to him for assistance, and the other opened a chase, but this time too the firing vehicle escaped.
Police have set up roadblocks on the access roads leading to the area to try and locate them.
Already at this stage it can be clearly said that this is a serious failure of the Central District in the police, which failed to provide proper protection in the police escort.
This morning, in front of the eyes of the police, there was an escalation in the bloody conflict and the fear is of more murders as revenge.
The commander of the Central District, Superintendent Ami Eshed, will have to conduct a comprehensive investigation of the events of the past day that ended in two murders and draw clear lessons from the default.
