Spain on Monday exceeded the threshold of
50,000 deaths from the new coronavirus pandemic,
according to the updated official balance of the Ministry of Health.
The country registered 298 more deaths than the last balance released on Thursday, and totals 50,122 since the start of the pandemic, according to the ministry.
The autonomous communities have notified the Ministry of Health 24,462 new cases of Covid-19 since last Friday, Christmas Day, 2,822 of them diagnosed in the last 24 hours.
The total number of infections in Spain
has already risen to 1,879,413
since the start of the pandemic, according to official statistics.
The accumulated incidence in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants stands at 246, compared to 224 last Monday and 262 last Thursday, on Christmas Eve, when the latest data report was published.
In the past two weeks it has been registered with a total of 115,775 positives.

In the last 24 hours, there have been 1,135 admissions (1,264 on Thursday) and 491 new arrivals (1,642 on Thursday).
The occupancy rate for beds occupied by coronavirus stands at 10.04 percent (8.80% on Thursday) and in ICUs at 21.14 percent (19.98% on Thursday).
