The vaccination against the coronavirus has started.
But who is it when?
Various circumstances play a role in determining this.
In
Germany, the
vaccination ordinance
regulates who belongs to the prioritized groups, as long as there is not every vaccine available.
How long it takes for other groups to
respond
depends, among other things, on the number of doses available and the number of
people willing
to be
vaccinated
.
According to current estimates, a large proportion of Germans could be vaccinated in
2021
.
Berlin - The first person vaccinated in Germany with an agent against the
coronavirus
was 101 years old and lived in a senior citizen center.
She belongs to the group that should be immunized first.
The
“Ordinance on the Entitlement to Vaccination against the Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2”
regulates who is on it and when
.
At the beginning of the vaccination marathon, there is not enough
vaccine available
for everyone living in Germany.
That is why the
Standing Vaccination Commission has
drawn up recommendations that Health Minister
Jens Spahn
(CDU) has adopted almost entirely.
For the answer as to when it is your turn to have a corona vaccination, the decisive factor is whether he or she belongs to the top priority groups.
Spahn's
regulation
provides for the following groups:
Top priority:
people who are at least 80 years old;
People who live or work in nursing homes or homes for the elderly;
Staff in intensive care units, emergency rooms and emergency services
High priority:
people who are 70 to 80 years old;
People with trisomy 21, dementia, an intellectual disability or after organ transplants;
close contact persons of pregnant women or those in need of care;
Police and law enforcement officers who are exposed to a high risk of infection
Increased priority:
people who are 60 to 70 years old;
People who have a medical history, such as HIV infection, diabetes mellitus or cancer;
Staff in daycare centers, schools and in retail outlets;
Personnel with a relevant position, for example in pharmacy, water and energy supply or telecommunications;
Personnel in relevant positions, for example in governments, the judiciary or the police and fire services

Corona vaccination: when is my turn?
But there are other
factors
that also determine when it is someone's turn.
The most important requirement, of course, is that
there are enough vaccine doses
available.
However, when you look at the numbers, you shouldn't forget that every person has to be vaccinated twice with the vaccine from Biontech and Pfizer - for one person there are two doses.
To classify: eleven to twelve million vaccine doses are planned by the end of March 2021 that can be vaccinated in Germany.
In addition, there may be other vaccines that are not yet
approved in the EU
, for example from the US company Moderna or from Great Britain from Astrazeneca.
Should they be delivered, the prioritized groups can be vaccinated faster.
This would also make it quicker for those willing who do not belong.

According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 136.3 million doses are safe
for the two vaccines from
Biontech
and Moderna
, almost all of which could be gelled in 2021.
With two necessary doses each, 68.2 million citizens could be vaccinated - with around 83 million inhabitants in Germany.
According to Biontech, there will be tests in 2021 to see how the active ingredient works for pregnant women or children.
Corona vaccination: Federal states set appointments - number of daily vaccinations varies
The
appointment
shall organize each state. In Bavaria to a report by the Bavarian Radio According should the over-80s who do not live in a retirement or nursing home, be informed in writing in January that they are entitled to get vaccinated.
According to the Bavarian Ministry of Health, vaccination of people with the highest priority should be completed by the end of January.
It has not yet been possible to foresee any further time limits.
The federal states also have different estimates of
how many
vaccinations against the coronavirus
can be achieved
every day
.
For example, assuming 150,000 vaccinations per day across Germany, it would take almost two months for 4.3 million people to be fully vaccinated because of the double vaccination.
That would be around half of those who are first in line according to the vaccination ordinance.
It will also be crucial who can carry out vaccinations.
In addition to the up to 442 vaccination centers nationwide and the mobile vaccination teams, it is also conceivable that
general practitioners will
vaccinate
after a few months
, which would result in more appointments.
According to the dpa, the head of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians assumes “that the practices will probably vaccinate in the summer.” The general practitioners are prepared to “quickly vaccinate a large group of patients”.

How many people are willing to be vaccinated against the coronavirus?
But how many people will be vaccinated at all?
The fewer there are, of course, the quicker other groups will respond.
According to a
survey by
the YouGov opinion research institute on behalf of the German Press Agency, around two thirds of Germans are currently planning to be poked.
We want to make a vaccination offer as soon as possible to everyone who wants to be vaccinated in 2021.
We already have sufficient doses for the two vaccines that are currently being approved.

When exactly it is who's turn depends on various
influencing factors
, which means that exact time windows can currently hardly be estimated.
However, Spahn wrote on Twitter: “We want to
make a vaccination offer
to everyone who
wants
to
be
vaccinated
in
2021
as soon as possible.” So plans for those willing to be vaccinated for 2021 seem realistic.
