The first doses will be given today from 10 a.m. in the LMU-Klinikum and in the Klinikum rechts.
The LMU-Klinikum starts with a four-day plan.
To start with, 950 LMU employees will be vaccinated
The vaccinations that will start this Tuesday in the Klinikum rechts der Isar and the LMU Klinikum should also help protect the medical staff.
"To begin with, over the next four days we will vaccinate around 950 employees who are in close contact with Covid patients in intensive care and normal wards or the emergency rooms," reports the Medical Director of the LMU Clinic, Professor Karl-Walter Jauch.
Priority for employees of the Covid-19 stations
Preparations are also in full swing at the University Hospital on the right of the Isar.
Under the direction of Dr.
Hedwig Roggendorf, the employees of the normal and intensive care units, where Covid-19 sufferers are treated, as well as the staff of the emergency center are vaccinated.
"The vaccination team consists of fifteen doctors and three medical assistants from the clinic as well as sixteen medical students and other support staff who will take turns taking over this task," the university clinic announced.

“We urgently need this vaccination in order to be able to maintain the care of our patients with and without Covid-19.
In the last few weeks in particular we have had more infections among our employees, which have pushed us to our limits, ”says Prof. Markus Schwaiger, Medical Director of the Klinikum rechts der Isar.
"We are very happy that the vaccine is now approved and available."
Vaccine was not enough for clinics
Originally, the vaccinations at the two Munich university clinics should have started on Sunday.
But nothing came of it: “The amount of vaccines that the Free State of Bavaria received was not enough to supply all university hospitals equally.
The employees at all clinics are important for patient care, so we look ahead and vaccinate all employees quickly according to a step-by-step plan, ”said LMU clinic director Jauch zu Münchnber Merkur and tz.
Again displeasure with planning by the Ministry of Health

The reason: While the Munich doctors were surprisingly put off, the first employees at the Erlangen University Hospital received the serum on Sunday.
Doctors in Munich wondered whether Erlangen was preferred because Minister Huml comes from Franconia?
The ministry rejected this and said that the distribution of the vaccination doses was made by the respective district administration.
The city administration had already contradicted this assessment to our newspaper on Friday: "The university clinics are beyond the jurisdiction of the district administration authorities."
