Guatemala begins management for vaccines against covid-19

The president of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei, announced that his government began the process to obtain 3.3 million vaccines.

The president of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammattei, indicated this Tuesday on his Twitter account that his government began the process to obtain 3.3 million vaccines against the coronavirus.

The process has already begun so that Guatemala has the vaccines for COVID-19 and the first week of January we will present an initiative to @CongresoGuate that will allow direct purchase of 2.5 million vaccines that will be added to the 3.3 million that have already been requested .

The president also indicated that in January 2021 he will present to Congress an initiative to acquire another 2.5 million vaccines.

Giammattei did not specify which laboratory they requested the vaccines from.

Nor how will the vaccination process in the country be.

This Tuesday, the Ministry of Health of Guatemala reported a total of 136,287 cases of covid-19.

Meanwhile, deaths in the country amount to 4,781.
