(CNN Spanish) -
The explosion of at least two gas cylinders left more than 30 injured in the eastern Monagas state of Venezuela, the Popular Will deputy to the National Assembly María Gabriela Hernández reported this Monday through her social networks.
The opposition parliamentarian pointed out that the deposits were distributed in a vehicle that was surrounded by people who demanded domestic gas.
Hernández wrote on his Twitter account that the accident is a consequence of the gas shortage in Venezuela and blamed the questioned President Nicolás Maduro.

Likewise, he reported that those injured by the explosion received first aid from members of the fire brigade and civil protection that attended the emergency and that the burn cases were treated at the Manuel Núñez hospital and at the local ambulatory.
Hernández highlights that some citizens claim that the gas cylinders had already been unloaded from the truck when they exploded.
Several experts say that the gas shortage is due to a drop in production.
The government argues that the cause is international sanctions imposed on the government and the oil industry.
