"I believed with all my soul, heart and head that this moment would come - and it is happening here and now":

Effi Lahav, head of the Pollard Liberation Staff, referred this morning (Wednesday) to the landing of Jonathan and Esther Pollard to Israel.

"I felt a value, moral and practical commitment until the moment he arrived in the country," he said.

The news of this was first published on the "Israel Today" website.

"In these hours we are experiencing a historic, exciting and amazing experience, for which we have been waiting for many years and inconceivable," he noted.

"Do not believe, Jonathan and Esther here in Israel. It should have happened a long time ago, but better late than never - and this was never an option for the headquarters. Pollard affair - Ruth Suf! "

Prime Minister Netanyahu welcomed the Pollards

Efi Lahav served in the paratroopers and took part in the First Lebanon War.

He has held a number of public service positions, including Chief Justice, Spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Director of the Jerusalem Municipality's Information Department.

Pollard landed in the morning accompanied by his wife Esther, about a month after the restrictions on his movement were lifted and five years after he was released from a federal prison after a lengthy 30-year sentence for his activities for Israel.

"Welcome back, how good it is that you came home. Now you can start life anew, with freedom and happiness. Now you are at home," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the couple, who welcomed them and even gave Jonathan an Israeli identity card.

Pollard said at the event: "We are excited to be home for the last 35 years. We thank the people of Israel and the Prime Minister of Israel for bringing us home. "This is a great country. It has a bright future. It is the future of the Jewish people, and we are not going anywhere."
